Productivity Tools For Business Professionals

“The secret of your future is hidden in your daily routine.” -Mike Murdock

The Uncap team is constantly looking on how we can improve our output, be more creative and spend more time on what truly matters. Productivity apps are dime-a-dozen, and the team has some clear favorites focusing on time & project management. Being a remote team, some also focus on collaboration while working from different parts of the world.

Whether you’re working solo or as part of a team, we share a great list of apps to help you get things done below:

Esther NdetiMicrosoft to do

This is a cloud-based task management application that allows users to manage their tasks from a smartphone, tablet and computer.

As a busy investment practitioner always on the move, Microsoft To Do is the most essential app for Esther. It’s always at her finger tips and helps her stay on top of things. She likes that it helps her prioritize while also keeping track of what she needs to do, given the fact that it integrates with Outlook tasks.

 Elias Steiner- Notion

Notion is a project management software that is used for note-taking, task management, project management, or knowledge management. It is also super handy to manage your personal tasks, ideas and knowledge.

Elias is ‘the product guy’, a role that involves UX building, prioritizing feature development and in our case also UI designing to mention a few. Having tried a variety of tools, he claims that Notion is the only tool you need to manage most of your work. You can use it to connect to other apps & add content to them from Notion. It is also super easy to use and has so many functions to get creative in organizing your work.

Johannes Willms- Excel

Excel is a powerful data visualization and analysis tool. Johannes also describes it as a dinosaur that just won’t go extinct for it having been used since time memorial. It saves him time, and makes processing data a breeze.

Wambui Karebe- Miro & Tomato Timer

Miro is basically a virtual white board which Wambui especially loves for brainstorming. She likes that you can create multiple colorful boards quickly using a template, and everyone can add their ideas or concepts at the same time. You can save the ideas in separate boards and go back to them at any point.

Tomato timer uses the pomodoro time management technique that breaks work into 25-minute intervals separated by short breaks. This helps her get things done within a specific time frame.

ROUVEN MAKECKI- JIRA

Jira is a proprietary issue tracking product that allows bug tracking and agile project management.

This is a very powerful work management tool, can be used easily out-of-the-box, but also configured deeply to fit any kind of process from agile software development to user service requests. It helps our CTO plan product features, sprints, track bugs, identify problems, and create long-term product release roadmaps.

Franziska Reh –Waking up: guided meditation

Combining meditation and mindfulness techniques with practical wisdom, the app is a guide to unlocking the mind and learning how to meditate.

With this, Franziska is able to elevate herself from the daily hustle, clear her mind & reflect on what’s really important. She likes to always have the bigger picture & key results in mind.
